Hello glorious human, I’m Crisann. I’m the proud Mama to my seventeen-year-old kiddo Jasper, and let me tell you, that’s the best title I’ve ever had. But beyond that, I wear many hats on this crazy journey called life. I’m an intuitive healer, a yoga teacher, an oracle deck creator, and believe it or not, a stage IV cancer survivor. Yeah, life threw me a curveball, but I’m here to tell you, I’m still standing – or at least sitting, depending on how my spine feels that day.
I’m a card-carrying member of Gen X, and you can bet your bottom dollar I’m the biggest Ted Lasso nerd you’ll ever meet. By day (and sometimes night), I manage a luxury residential property. Now, you might wonder how all these seemingly unrelated pieces fit together, but trust me, if you checked my natal chart, it all adds up. It’s like a cosmic jigsaw puzzle, and I’m just rolling with it.
My story started in the Chicago ‘burbs during the John Hughes era – can you get more ’80s than that? My mom was all about the “woo,” so I grew up knee-deep in astrology, metaphysics, and supernatural phenomena. At seventeen, a friend introduced me to the Rider Waite tarot, and it was like love at first sight. I rushed to the bookstore to snag my own deck, and guess what? I still use it today. Oh, and for the astrology buffs out there, I’m a Libra Sun, Leo Rising, Cancer Moon with a Taurus midheaven. Myers-Briggs fans, I’m an ENFP.
Fast forward a few years, and at the tender age of twenty, I decided to take a detour to Mumbai, India. That journey left an indelible mark on my soul, though it took another two decades for me to realize my deep affection for yoga. Teaching and practicing yoga used to be my jam before life did a somersault. Now, with a spine that’s as fragile as a house of cards, I’m not entirely sure when or if I’ll be back on the mat. But let me tell you, yoga has profoundly shaped me, and I’ll be forever grateful to my teachers.
Intuition has been my superpower since I can remember. As a kid, I was fascinated by the idea that mystical and unseen forces surround us at all times. One Halloween night, I rummaged through my closet and cobbled together a fortune-teller outfit for a party. When I arrived, someone half-jokingly asked if I could tell their fortune. Without missing a beat, I rattled off the first things that popped into my head. The woman’s mouth hung open, and her eyes were the size of saucers as she asked, “How in the hell did you know that?!” I think I raised one eyebrow and replied, “Madame Morgana knows all,” before sashaying away. Ten minutes later, I had a line of people wanting their fortunes told. That night kickstarted my journey into becoming a psychic intuitive.
As the years went by, my quest for personal development led me to the renowned Intuitive Laura Day, who taught me how to harness my intuitive gifts. I picked up my energy healing certification, collected multiple yoga teaching credentials, and even dipped my toes into breath-work. The common thread through this eclectic journey? It’s all about connecting our mind and body to the unseen – it’s been an adventure, to say the least.
Now, in November 2020, I got hit with a real plot twist: Stage IV Her2+ Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, or as I like to call it, aggressive breast cancer. I had just turned 50, and that cancer had the audacity to spread to my spine, fracturing my vertebrae and ribs. So, I embarked on the chemo and radiation rollercoaster, and still get infusions every three weeks. Leaving this planet was never on my to-do list, especially with my awesome kid by my side. My parents are gone, and I don’t have family nearby, but my incredible friends have surrounded me with love, support, and more help than I could ever ask for.
Believe it or not, cancer came bearing gifts. It slapped some sense into me, rearranged my priorities, and paved the way for some deep healing. Despite the cancer and my fragile spine, I can honestly say I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. The moral of the story? Don’t wait for a life-changing diagnosis to start your journey toward becoming the finest version of yourself. Time is shorter than you think, my friends.
In the midst of my health adventure, I stumbled upon the “Vegvisir,” a symbol of protection and guidance. It’s an Icelandic rune stave that means “Wayfinder,” and it’s said that whoever carried this symbol would find their way, even in the worst of storms, and without a map. I liked that idea so much that I got it tattooed on my inner arm as a reminder that no matter the trials I’ve faced, I’ve always found my way.
This discovery led me to create “The Dyr Oracle,” a deck based on the elder futhark runes and the wonders of Norse mythology – which incidentally also happens to be my ancestry. And because I can’t get enough of Ted Lasso, I also whipped up an oracle deck inspired by the show, cleverly named the “Lasso’racle.” I never thought I’d become an independent oracle deck creator, but I’m loving every minute of this artistic and spiritual expression. Divination is my favorite way of connecting with my spiritual side, and I’m thrilled to share something with the world that can light the path for others.
Being an intuitive healer remains one of my favorite professional hats, and I’ve been dishing out readings since 2009. Want your own personal reading? You can get one! Just drop me a line – or Click Here
If you’ve stuck with me this far, I’m sending you a heartfelt thank you. I hope you find my offerings to be a source of benefit, and perhaps even a smile. Life’s too short not to embrace every ounce of magic it has to offer.
